We all know the benefits of energy saving light bulbs, reducing your carbon footprint and saving money.  But until now there has been a massive problem that they cannot be effectively dimmed like conventional light bulbs to create ambient, relaxed lighting.

The Varilight dimmable energy saving light bulb solves these problems, it dims smoothly from 3 - 100%.  The bulb is equivalent to a 100 watt bulb at full brightness but only uses 20 watts, even less power is used when dimmed.  The estimated money saving is £100 per bulb over the life of the bulb, with 500kg less carbon emissions.

Dimmer Requirements

Please note that dimmer switches have minimum load limits.  As these bulbs have a very low load (20W), you will need to ensure that your dimmer meets the correct specification, this can normally be found on the back of your dimmer.  If you are using just one bulb your dimmer must have a minimum load of 20W to ensure it operates correctly.  If you are using more than one bulb, the minimum load of your dimmer can increase, 40W for 2 bulbs, 60W for 3 bulbs and so on.  In the event that you are using just one bulb and need to replace your dimmer, they are available in a range of finishes from £8.61 (HQ7), you can also use the Varilight Touch Remote Dimmers for 1-20 bulbs per circuit.  If you are in any doubt about your electrics please consult a qualified electrician.  Should you have any further questions about these bulbs please do not hesitate to contact us.
