HFB4 - Varilight 2G 1 or 2W 2x250W Dimmer Ultra Flat Brushed Brass

It is important to select the correct dimmer switch for your application so please read the following information carefully.



Our standard dimmers are recommended for mains voltage lighting only, although they can also be used on low voltage applications, but the Intelligent (IQ) Dimmer and Touch/Remote Dimmers are best suited for these applications.



The lights are dimmed by a rotary control knob and turned on and off by a push on/ push off action. Push on/ push off dimmers are suitable for 1-way and 2-way circuits.
When selecting a standard dimmer add up the wattages of the bulbs you wish to dim and choose a dimmer with a suitable maximum load rating. If you have a 2-way circuit (where the same lights are controlled by two switches) you must choose a push-on/push-off dimmer and replace one of the switches with that dimmer. You can only use one push-on/push-off dimmer in a 2-way circuit. It must be used in conjunction with a normal switch. When you switch on a push-on/off dimmer the lights will come on at the same level they were at before they were last switched off.



1 or 2 way Push on/push off™ dimmers can be used for mains incandescent GLS lamps (standard mains light bulbs), maximum load as specified on the dimmer. It can also dim GU10 or similar Hi Spot Mains Halogen lamps (only use quality UK supplied lamps) maximum load as specified on dimmer. [Please note by using Touch/Remote Dimmers there is a zero risk of damage in case of lamp failiure and a dramatically improved lamp life].



If you are using the dimmer with quality low voltage transformers such as VARILIGHT™ low voltage transformers (product codes: yt70, yt105, yt150, yt250) you can control them up to maximum load as specified on the dimmer. If you are using other low voltage transformers, not made by VARILIGHT™ we recommend only to control up to 5 low voltage transformers per circuit, as long as the total load does not exceed maximum wattage stated on the dimmer. [Noise levels may vary depending on type, quality and quantity of transformers used].



You are not able to use Rotary Push on/push off Dimmers on Wire Wound Transformers or fans and other Inductive Loads (for these products see Intelligent Dimmers, Touch/Remote Dimmers, and Fan Regulators).
