This ® intelligent dimmer (also known as the IQ Dimmer), like all our products are designed to meet the latest European Safety Legislation.



The intelligent dimmer is equipped to handle overload situations by stepping down its output to the lamps until the load is reduced (i.e.: if wattage is too high on the bulbs/lamps).



Intelligent dimmers are micro-processor controlled and benefit from the following features:


Intelligent dimmers can be used for either mains voltage, low voltage transformer loads, or control of awkward loads (i.e.: its innovative technology can handle most of the unusual dimmer applications in households and offices.)


The dimmer has a soft start when turned on, which not only extends the lamp/bulb life but also saves energy.


The intelligent dimmer 'steps down' its output under partial overload, and switches off under gross overload conditions; This protects the dimmers' components and extends the product life. Normal operation resumes once the load is corrected.


The intelligent dimmer can be used for mains incandescent gls lamps (standard mains light bulbs), maximum load as specified on dimmer. It can also dim GU10 or similar Hi Spot Mains Halogen lamps (only use quality UK supplied lamps) maximum load as specified on dimmer. [Please note by using Touch/Remote dimmers there is a zero risk of damage in case of lamp failure and a dramatically improved lamp life].



If you are using the dimmer with quality low voltage transformers such as ® low voltage transformers (product codes: yt50l, yt70L, yt105, yt150, yt250) you can control them up to maximum load as specified on the dimmer. If you are using other low voltage transformers, not made by ® we recommend only to control up to 5 low voltage transformers per circuit, as long as the total load does not exceed maximum wattage stated on the dimmer. [Noise levels may vary depending on type, quality and quantity of transformers used].



The intelligent dimmer can be used for wire wound low voltage transformers up to maximum load as specified on dimmer.



Intelligent dimmers can be used on fans and other inductive load appliances, but please check with manufacturer of appliance.
